Campus culture construction has attracted intense attention from all walks of life, the administration in schools in particular. In their eyes, strengthening campus culture construction has been playing an indispensable role, not only in creating humanity environment and cultivating teachers' and students' spirit for a fine school climate, but also in improving school running quality and level for providing satisfactory education to people. Starting from the middle of 1980s, studies on campus culture has been carried out in China. Over the years, its content has been kept changing and updating while its research field expanding and deepening, demonstrating a good trend of development.As a systematic project, however, campus culture involves many aspects. Its theoretical importance in school education has been recognized extensively, but in practice, lack of education value has appeared in campus culture construction due to insufficient investment or other factors, which resulted in issues such as lack of material culture facilities, monotonous campus activities and lagged system construction.Given this, the author attempts to analyze a case on "Mountain & Sea" characteristic campus culture in a level-1 school in Guangdong province, describing and explaining its significance and role while offering relevant strategies and proposals. The aim of doing so is to illustrate the necessity to further study the essential role of campus culture as an important innovational resource in building schools of characteristics to enhance its educational function.
