The campus culture is the values, basic beliefs,behavioral norms and superficialcharacteristics followed by all staff and students, which is formed by the school in thelong-term educational activities.Through some qualitative and quantitative research methods such as literature reviewand survey investigation with staff and students of middle school from9cities in Henanprovince. Such statistical methods as EFA, CFA, Muti-groups analysis and HLM were appliedfor the data analysis. The conclusions were as described below:First, for Chinese urban middle schools, the campus culture scale is comprised of fivedimensions: humanism care, environment representation, norms, goal oriented, innovation.The reliability and validity of the campus culture questionnaire strictly complies thepsychometric requirements.Second, this study found that campus culture’s humanism care dimension couldpositively predict the job performance of staff significantly. Similarly, the humanism care andgoal oriented can positively predict the knowledge sharing behavior of the staff. In additon,organizational identification was found to be the medium variable between campus cultureand job performance of the staff.Third, the effect of teachers’ support perceived by students to their school belonging waspositively impacted by “humanism care” and “innovation” of staff’s campus culturesignificantly in the class level.Whereas, the “norms”of staff’s campus culture had a negativeeffect on the influence of the teachers’ support perceived by students to their schoolbelonging.Fourth, it was found that the demographical variables including sex, age, work time,school nature and school kind had more or less effects on the dimensions of campus culture.Finally, the limitations of this study were stated. In the meantime, the advices of campusculture construction were proposed.
