The Values Of Traditional Initiation Education Textbook-"the Whip And Spur"

The traditional initiation education textbooks contain broad and profound traditional culture and various people and stories in the long history. This paper analyzes"the Whip and Spur", the classical traditional initiation education textbook, and investigates its modern educational value through Chinese perspective. First of all, we find its plentifulness, tidiness and transition through studying the historical origin of this textbook, and analyze its special role comparing with other initiation education textbooks. Then, we classify the details and way of writing it, and study the functions of morality, intelligence and aesthetic, and its modern educational values of modern psychological learning. In the final analysis, we prove the three principles of critical inheritances----sublation, progressive addition and complementary.
