This paper observes and defines the related concepts and scope of the traditional initiation books firstly. At present, the edition of initiation books has significant realistic meaning and it is of great advantage to both the inheritance of the traditional culture and contemporary children’s initiation education.During thousands of years’ development from the Qin Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty, traditional initiation books left a unique brand of culture in every age and the different characteristics of different periods show the shadow of the time and the tendency of the culture. However, the current publishing situation of the traditional initiation is not optimistic. Sharing precious little proportion in the large children’s publishing market, this kind of book is difficult to survive.According to the investigation of a series of traditional initiation books published on the market, this paper sums up some problems such as the homogenization, decentralization, impropriety of choreography and the singleness of marketing mode, and so on. We put forward corresponding publication strategies aiming at the above problems. These strategies include that traditional initiation books need forming its own brand and books should meet the characteristics and habits of the children’s reading, whether in the editing of the content or the binding of the books. On the issue of marketing, the books can take advantage of the combination of the multi-channel and the new media, so as to adapt to the new era of book market.
