The traditional initiation textbooks has gone through thousands of years. We have to feel admiration for their great vitality. During this long history of baptism, the traditional textbooks also experienced a "survival of the fittest"and"natural selection" .And also it has Double-edged sword.The traditional initiation textbooks contains a lot of things,such as the origin of civilization, ancient ritual system, Zhi Guan, election, imperial, characters, books, ideological and cultural characteristics, Shinto concepts, music culture, calligraphy, painting, astronomy and calendar, currency, Ancient Science technology achievements of the ancient agricultural production, clothing, food, construction, transportation, ceramics and so on. The traditional initiation textbooks are of a great help to children.Here the author introduces and analyzes the characteristics of a traditional initiation textbook "The Whip and Spur".In this article the author combined the ancient cultural theory with the perspective of language education and teaching.There are four major aspects of content that the author analysis" The Whip and Spur " . To began with , a brief introduction " The Whip and Spur " this book. Including the " The Whip and Spur " the origin of the title, the total number of words, a book's age, background, into a bibliography, of research, content and institutional characteristics. What is more, analysis " The Whip and Spur " with the perspective of education . This includes the aims of education, educational philosophy and teaching methods. third, with the combination of " The Whip and Spur " of various features of the education that are good to Contemporary Children Education,including the Education of contemporary humanities and modern language teaching. Finally, the author evaluated" The Whip and Spur " objectively. As part of the traditional limitations of culture, we should have a dialectical view of " The Whip and Spur " ,and abandon the principle of classical bad teaching . Only in way can we treated " The Whip and Spur "correctly.
