Research On School Influential Factors About Security Development Of The Rural Hometown-remained Children

The security development has important influence for the growth of the Rural Hometown-remained Children. The former researchers focus more on the family factors. This research focuses on the school in order to find the factors influencing the security development of the Rural Hometown-remained Children.Questionnaires and interviews are applied in this research. 955 Children in 6 schools among 3 regions in Hunan province are investigated, including 676 the Rural Hometown-remained Children. It study the situation of the security development of the Rural Hometown-remained Children, the influences on security caused by the their peer relationship and teacher-student relationship. The used questionnaires include Security-Isecurity Questionnaire, Friendship Quality Questionnaire, Teacher-Student Relationship Questionnaire.The data gained from investigations are analyzed by statistical methods, such as variance analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis atc. Through the interviews, more specific examples are obtained to verify the results. The results show:1.There are no significant differences on the security between the Rural Hometown-remained Children and children with parents living with them in country side ; between different types of Rural Hometown-remained Children; between different age and sex.2.There are significant differences on the security between the Rural Hometown-remained Children whether they have reliable teachers and friends, the age when their parents leave them to work in the cities, the time of their living away from their parents, their fathers educational status, the frequency which they contact with their parents atc.3.There are no significant differences on the peer relationship between the Rural Hometown-remained Children and children with parents living with them in country side. But former have significant better teacher-student relationship.4.The quality of friendship, the acceptance of peer and the teacher-student relationship correlate with the security of Rural Hometown-remained Children. Somehow, the quality of friendship and the teacher-student relationship can predict their security. Rural Hometown-remained Children are more vulnerable on the development of their security compared to the children living with their parents. However, there are some children develop in good ways. Good friendship quality and teachers-student relationship can make adjusting to the development of security of children.
