The new curriculum teaching experiment has been developing gradually all over China since the ordinary senior middle schools in Guangdong and other three provinces first implemented it in the fall of 2004. It has changed a lot in teaching ideas, contents, styles and estimation ways. The new curriculum requires teachers to change both in ideas and actions completely. It can't be effective until the teaching ideas and styles it advocates are changed into teachers' practical knowledge and reflect through teaching. Whether the teachers, the final executors, can adapt to the new curriculum matters a lot in enhancing the reform. Zhuhai is a developed economic zone which has the reform- and- open policy. Can the senior middle school politics teachers adapt to the new curriculum reform? In order to understand their adaptability, the author made a survey on their attitude and actions, mainly about the senior middle school politics teachers in Zhuhai. The research uses such methods as questionnaire survey, interview, classroom observation and so on, combining with the author's own teaching experience. The result shows that the teachers' adaptability is developing well. Most teachers accept the new curriculum actively. Their teaching ideas and actions have changed a lot. They have good self-developing plans and co-operation consciousness. But undeniably, there are some problems in implementing the new curriculum. The teachers are under greater pressure, understanding and actions are not consistent; their qualities and teaching practicing are to be improved; curriculum resources are not developed enough, the textbooks' "second developing" is at a small percentage. Also there are differences between the estimation style and effect. Lack of curriculum resources has a bad effect on it too. Schools should support more and the students should be more active. Through the research, the author has found out the gap between the teachers' actions and the new curriculum ideas, analyzed the factors which block the teachers' adaptability and come up with some tips to improve it from the four aspects: the government, education department, school leaders and teachers themselves.
