Web-based Course Standardized Design And Research

With web-based education becoming more popular, it's necessary to promise the e-learning contents'reusability, interoperability and communicational ability with LMS/LCMS, which limits the web-based education to develop and make it become true that anyone can learn anytime and anywhere. The solution is to get agreed between the LMS/LCMS vendors and content developers about the web-based course, which is called standard of web-based education. And, there are many standards and organizations researching standards emerging promptly. And most of the organizations make their major focus on content object's reusability, interoperability and communicational ability with LMS/LCMS, including ADL, which applies SCORM accepted widely. In many countries, SCORM is their major adopting standard. In this paper, firstly the situations of adopting SCORM in many countries are researched, followed with the conclusions of the application and research on SCORM. Then, it addresses how to design and develop the web-based courses in accordance with SCORM. Based it and taking into consideration other standards on e-learning instructional materials and instruction design, the paper provides a general process of designing and developing the web-based course standardized ,also some suggestions and tips of making the process more easily and efficiently. And finally, the development of web-based course standardized in future is predicted.
