Junior high school is an important stage in schooling educational system. Junior high school students are in the crossroad of life. Generally speaking, the period of junior high school has a great influence on the formation of a child's personality, interest, ethics and moral. So the abilities of the form teacher in junior high school who is in charge of the running of a class certainly have a great influence on the students'growth and development. Therefore the research on the structure of abilities of form teacher in junior high school is critical to the overall improvement of the contingent of teachers and the quality of education. This research is discussing the theoretical generalization of form teachers, the operating features of form teachers in junior high school etc., then coming up with several new abilities that new era form teachers in junior high school must have.This research uses many research methods such as literature method, interviewing method, questionnaire survey method. Besides the theoretical discussions, the author also probes into the educational practice to ask for further information. The purpose in doing so is to avoid theory alienating from reality.The paper can be divided into the following parts:The preface briefly introduces the research background, the present situation, the research significance, the research purpose and methods, and the innovation and deficiency of this paper.The second part deals with the definition of form teachers and several related notions.The third part makes an exposition of the operating features of form teachers in junior high school, which prepares for the next episode.The fourth part puts forward several new abilities that new era form teachers in junior high school must have:the capability of mental health counseling capacity, moral education ability, the ability to use network resources, self-reflection ability, and communication capability.The fifth part discusses the approaches of improving the capabilities of form teachers in junior high school.The last part of the paper is the conclusion.
