Traditional Culture Education In The Sight Of Hermeneutics

Our traditional culture becomes popular with studying the Confucian classics among millions of children. This phenomenon has historical reasons and also the impact of globalization. We should think about the problem that our education is not sufficient in the aspect of traditional culture. Hermeneutics thinks that current education is technical, neglecting traditional culture education. This article analyzes this problem in the sight of hermeneutics.This article refers to conservative hermeneutics, moderate hermeneutics and radical hermeneutics. They represent different views of traditional culture. If we regard tradition as the text, conservative hermeneutics emphasizes the pursuit of original meaning; moderate hermeneutics emphasizes the blending of the readers and texts in history; radical hermeneutics emphasizes the deconstruction of text. Tradition (text) plays an important part in hermeneutics. Hermeneutics is a kind of knowledge to explain tradition and help us to understand traditional culture better.Hirsch is not only a famous hermeneutic expert and educationalist, but also an assertor of traditional culture education. He thinks that it must supply core knowledge curriculum for traditional education, while Bloom who is also the assertor of tradition culture considers that it must take the method of reading classical masterpieces. Chinese traditional culture is rich and colorful, which has many idealistic elites that are deserved to be inherited and developed. Except for Confucian culture, there are various forms in our traditional culture, such as Taoist culture, Legist culture, Mohism culture and Buddhism culture etc. We could attempt to implement core knowledge curriculum and develop the traditional culture education, which could let students contact Chinese excellent traditional culture and upgrade their cultural literacy.Education should keep traditional culture on the one hand, and facilitate reformation on the other hand .So it should conserve the contents that have universal and forever value, and rebuild the traditional culture in the face of Zeitgeist and the future. The traditional culture education will develop better under the continual explanation and innovation.
