As one of the most familiar words, the effects of interest on education have been frequently proved. With the approach of learning society, the fostering of learning interest becomes an important aim of education and has drawn great attention from people. However, there have many mistakes in practice about interest.The establishment of interest's position within education field implies the changing of one educational ideology, that is, to respect children's nature and to exercise their initiatives. Based on these, the paper analyzes three different types of ideas about interest and takes the view that interest is a kind of psychological state which is generated in the process of metal activities or when the individual choose an object of his own accord. This process aims at shortening the distance between an individual and his foreseeable and desirable goal so as to promote the development of him.The paper centers on the analysis of "mistakes in practice about interest". Through the collection of several cases and literature analysis, four practical mistakes were found, including the confusion between interest and curiosity, the equation of interest with happiness, the antithesis of interest to endeavor and the repulsion of interest to guidance. The reasons why such deviations exist are that the word of interest has been misused, that is to say, interest has been regarded only as a stage of being interested and person matters where being interest is equal to being beneficial. The most prominent feature is that superficialized the interest, even using interest instead of education. In fact, the real interest should be a dynamic process which involves the great devotion of an individual. Besides, interest is a social concept, being good or bad.Based on the previous analysis, the paper puts forward strategies to move away from those mistakes in practice. They are to develop valuable curiosity into interest, to let students be in a joyful state but beyond the pure and simple interest; to arouse students' interest-oriented efforts and to transform the indulgence for interest into the pointed guidance.
