Interest is a basic theoretical category in Marxism historical materialism. The interest relation is the essence of social relationship, the interest harmony is the essence of social harmony and the establishing of harmonious society can't elude the research on it. The realization of interest harmony requires the coordination of interest relations and optimization of interest structure through utilization of various devices from the following aspects: politic, economic, law and moral.The interest relationship is man-to-man relation out of human necessity and is the essence of social relationship. We can say that all the social relationship is interest relationship from essence. Interest harmony is simply harmonious relation between different interest subject, which is reflected in the stable and coherent situation or coordinated development of human's interest ideology or behavior.Our country's interest relation has witnessed a profound change with the development of socialism market economy until now and shows some new characteristics—mainly in four aspects: the diversity of interest subjects, the plenty of interest objects, the enlargement of interest gap and complexity of interest conflicts. The old labor division is the critical cause of interest imbalance and interest conflicts, while the incompleteness in law and policy system and the inconsistence of interest subject's concepts are also important reasons. Realization the interest relationship we should under the guidance of scientific development strategy, and in accordance with the four key principles—principle of human-orientation, of moderation, of Overall plan, of seeking the common while maintaining the discrepancy, the optimization of interest structure and the interest harmony can be attached through rearrangement of interest relation, and coordination of interest conflicts by comprehensively using economical, institutional and ideological measures.
