A Practical Study On The Knowledge Management In Chinese Universities

Knowledge plays a more and more important role in each field of the knowledge society. Universities and colleges face a huge challenge as an organization with much knowledge. In the recent years, the researches on theories about knowledge management in universities are paid more attention but there are many questions in the theories and practice, which makes it hard to face the challenge from knowledge society for universities. Owing to the necessity, urgency, blemish and shortage of the knowledge management in universities, the writer takes "Practical Study on the Knowledge Management in Chinese Universities " as a subject and elaborates to this topic including five parts.The article begins with the related concepts of the knowledge management in universities and introduces the object, basic contents and principles of the knowledge management. And then it discusses the necessities of the knowledge management in universities from the orientation of the universities adapting to the society advancement, academics development and education informationization. In addition, it demonstrates the feasibility of the knowledge management in universities form the history of knowledge management, universities' and knowledge resources' characteristics and so on. Then, it makes a retrospect to the development process of knowledge management and universities knowledge management. Furthermore, it summarizes the current situation and the problems: such as no valid management system, the lack of thorough knowledge management principles and motivation mechanism of share and innovation about knowledge, lower knowledge innovation qualities, the great loss of the talent and intelligent property right etc.. At last, it points out the scientific, operable andconcrete measurements, for example, establishing the knowledge managementsystem, setting up the people-oriented management concept, constructing the campus culture of the knowledge share and building up perfect knowledge network, attaching importance to the exchanges and share of knowledge etc.
