The deep-rooted traditional Chinese "Masculinism" has been challenged by the boom of higher education accepted by more and more females in modern China. Now even the male still play the dominant role in family and in society, females, especially female postgraduates try to prove themselves in their career and family. However, the harder they try, the more they will be defined as "No family but career", which absolutely a negative influence by the Chinese traditional thoughts of what woman like. Therefore, it turns out to be the new focus for the sociological research that how female postgraduates treat their love and marriage in modern society. My paper will present some facts and analysis in this topic and try to bring some useful ideas for the further discussion in this aspect. The reason why I choose this topic is based on the two positive facts.First, micro-sociologically, to know what female postgraduates think about their love and marriage is a must access to explain the final behaviors how they treat their love and marriage. Then we can provide them a better environment for their self-development and a better understanding of their own choices.Secondly, macro-socilogically, how females treat their love and marriage is a very important part of the family's harmony and the society's harmony.Based on all above, my paper choose 2007 female postgraduates in Shandong University (including some female PhD) as the research targets, adopt the mix-research combining quantity and quality method, in order to find a right and objective view and discussion about this topic.Mainly the research covers four parts: female postgraduates' attitudes towards love, choosing spouse, marriage/family/career and sex. To put it more specific, the writer of the paper adopt the standard social research method that wirter chose 150 targets by random and asked them to answer the carefully designed survey questionnaire. As for some questions concerning more specifics, the writer tried case study to help. The final expectation for all the effort-taking research is to find out the reasons why female postgraduates' attitudes and behaviors towards love and marriages are what they like today.Generally the paper is divided into five parts :Part one introduction, which introduce the background, significances & references, and the key points of the paper research;Part two former research review, which review the Chinese traditional attitudes toward love and marriage and the weakness in research in female postgraduates' love and marriage;Part three research design, which present the writer's research tool and methord; Part four analysis of female postgraduates' the viewpoints to love and marriage based on the collected data;Part five some points still to be improved in this paper research.
