The attitudes of love and marriage is not only a crucial part of people’s values, butalso one of the main perspectives to investigate the social changes. To some extent, thechanges on the attitudes of love and marriage can indicate the development tendency ofmarriage and family in future society in China and will have impacts on socialdevelopment and overall improvement of the populace’s cultivation. Therefore, thestudy on the changes of Chinese urban women’s attitudes of love and marriage has greatsignificance under specific historical condition of the social transformation. Based onthe ontological interpretation of the attitudes on love and marriage, this study exploresthe changes of urban women’s views on mate selection, marriage, divorce and sexduring the period of social transformation and examines the underlying reasons. Besides,the author also analyzes the marriage problems incurred by those changes andaccordingly puts forward a series of practical strategies to promote the healthydevelopment of Chinese urban women’s attitudes of love and marriage during thetransformation period.This study can be divided into four parts. As for the part of introduction, the authorpresents the research background of this study, summarizes the theoretical resultsconcerning marriage at home and abroad, and introduces research ideas and methods ofthis study in detail. The first part refers to the ontology interpretation of marriage, including the concept and functions of the attitudes on love and marriage, and theevolution of Chinese women’s attitudes on love and marriage. In the second part, thechanges of urban women’s attitudes on mate selection, marriage, divorce and sex duringthe period of social transformation are discussed. In addition, this part also explores thereasons form subjectivity, objectivity and the collapse of the dominance of patriarchy.For the third part, the author probes the problems incurred by the changes of Chineseurban women’s attitudes on love and marriage. The author mainly summarizes andanalyzes extramarital love, divorce and homosexuality. The fourth part basicallydiscusses practical strategies to promote the healthy development of Chinese urbanwomen’s attitudes of love and marriage during the transformation period. In light of theobjectives, contents and principles of education on the attitudes of love and marriage,the author proposes a number of methods, such as typical demonstration, psychologicalcounseling, theoretical inculcation, guidance and sublimation, etc.
