The"primary and secondary school curriculum guidelines for information technology"that our country promulgated pointed out that the main goal of Chinese information technology education in primary and secondary schools is to have the students have the ability of gaining transmitting handling and using information, cultivate good Information Literacy, let the information technology be support in the lifelong learning, lay necessary basis for studying work and living in the information century."In the school of the writer, the teaching method of information technology is conventional classroom teaching and combined training. The main purpose is to master computer knowledge and manipulation skills. As the teaching environment and equipment update and internet accessing in the school, the writer finds that the students in junior middle schools have a lot of shortage in finding useful information on the internet. The ability of searching information and filter them need to be enhanced eagerly. Students often fail to quickly and accurately find the information to their own needs. And the lack of online security and self-protection is another problem that needs to face. And all above influence the students in the future.In order to improve the ability of searching information on the internet and let the students in junior middle schools make a better use of the Internet, this study aim at the teaching of chapter"seeking and preserving information"in the network applications, selected two teaching methods for teaching and research, one way is teacher transferring knowledge and skills by a traditional method based on content of the study book, the other way is to re-engineer the content of book and teaching order, summed up the skills and methods of refining Keywords. This study based on the theory of instructional design by Ausu Bell and the theory of learning and teaching and the model of instructional design by Dick Kelly, detailed design the teaching of chapter"seeking and preserving information". This study used quasi-experimental research methods, chose two classes in grade one in NO 3 middle school as object in the experience to complete the test with one month. During the experience, the writer made a good control to various factors and got some real and effective experimental data. The experimental data proved that the students'skill of searching and filtering information had been improved.In this study, the writer's aim is to find a suited way in teaching information technology. It is of benefit to update the concept and teaching method of teachers working at information technology teaching. It will also improve the quality of teaching information technology.
