The philosophic thought"The Unity of Man and Nature"is the leading culture that has extended in China for thousands of years. With its profound and rich connotations, the essentials are the confirmation of the unity of nature and spirit and the concern about the coordination between human beings'acting and nature, believing that only man returns to nature can the real and integrated humanity be realized. However, with the rapid development of science and technology in the 20th century, during the process of pursuing the rapid increase of economy, people destroyed the nature and lost the spiritual homeland and even the bosom tranquility. Our age is calling on the idea that"The Unity of Man and Nature"should be rooted in everyone's heart. It can not only make people friendly with nature and love nature but also temper their character and purify their heart. Encountering with the increasing worsened ecological environment and the demand for the humanity quality education, the reform of Chinese teaching, especially Chinese teaching in middle schools needs to inherit and pass on the traditional concept of nature,"The Unity of Man and Nature".The Chinese textbooks of middle schools choose the essence of ancient classical poems and essays, which contains the rich cultural connotation of"The Unity of Man and Nature". The natural pastoral revealed in the poems and essays is the spiritual destination; plum blossoms, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum portrayed is the symbol of character; mountains and tranquil forests sketched is the bosom homeland; clear starry sky heightened is the emotional substance. Inheriting and passing on the concept of nature,"The Unity of Man and Nature"can make students love nature, purify their heart, enrich their emotion and improve their humanity quality. To inherit and pass on the concept of nature,"The Unity of Man and Nature", first of all, we should edit teaching materials carefully and add the concept of nature,"The Unity of Man and Nature"in the chosen essays. Teachers who teach Chinese course should establish this thought and improve their own humanity quality and have scientific, reasonable and effective methods as well. In the practical teaching, by using the teaching methods like reading aloud and elegantly, creating situations, appreciating the mood of a literary work, associating and transferring, rewiring poems and essays, etc., teachers can make this conception filter into each student'mind.
