As complement of physical education the extra-curricular physical exercise of college students is an important component of college physical education, is one of the basic ways to achieve physical education goal and has an important role for enhancing physical quality of students, raising the health level of students, developing the athletic habit and ideal of students for life. However, because of a great quantity reasons, the extra-curricular physical exercise of college students gradually showed an absent-minded or sluggish situation at will in recently. Besides, nobody has attached enough importance to it. In the meantime, analyzing the result of the physical quality investigation of college students, their physical health level shows a decreasing tendency at a whole. The aspect is worried by us.This research had investigated many items by the literature data method, questionnaire investigation method, visiting and talking method and mathematics statistic analyzing method etc. ways to 900 college students at 6 universities in Inner Mongolia. The items include psychology condition, the characteristic of participating in, affecting factor and organizing management condition from the universities. The investigation result shows that the college students in Inner Mongolia had realized that health can be affected by athletic through physical education. They had grasped some sport abilities and some basic exercise know-hows, but the scientific way of exercise require been raised further more, their whole evaluation to physical education is not very satisfied. The physical exercise ideal of the college students is definite much; most quantity of them are active to taking part in physical exercise, insist on doing exercise; but some students do not stick to doing exercise especially girls. Their main motive of taking part in physical exercise is to strengthen body. The exercise items are mainly activities which field is simple and execution is easy such as running, basketball, table tennis and badminton etc.. The frequency which the students take part in physical exercise is 1-3 times per week, the exercise time is mainly 30-60 minutes per times. The real condition exist some difference compared with State requirement. State requires "the extra-curricular physical exercises are not less than 3 times per week, the exercise time are not less than 1 hour per times". The exercise time is distributed widespread; the time phases are mainly after afternoon class, after evening study-by-self and morning. Most students exercise in the stadium or gymnasium, which they are free of charge inside or out side of school. The ways of student taking part in exercise are mainly 3 ways that are going spontaneously with classmates or friends, exercising signally and organized by school, and the first way is most. The athletic consumption fee of students distribute evenly, the proportion that consumption fee of students is less than 100 yuan RMB is highest and the whole consumption level of athletic is lower. The athletic consumption structure of students are various, but the expenditure mainly used in materials. Below are main factors that promote students to positively take part in the. Extra-curricular physical training, they are the favorable atmosphere of school, convenient new medium and more professional teacher of physical education. The main affecting factors that hinder students to take part in exercise are that field or athletic materials are lack, the studying pressure is too high to have time, having no interesting, having no companions etc.. In additional, in universities of Inner Mongolia, the extra-curricular physical exercises exist other defects in organization and management still, they are that the organizing strength is not enough, management is lax and work is reduced to a mere formality. We observe the organization situation of exercise in morning and in class interval and find that most universities had not collectively organized students to do morning exercise and the exercise in class interval had approached to be disappeared. Nevertheless, it is relatively better that Organization work for amateur training team, physical education club and athletic match, but they are concentrated to a few traditional items.According to the main factors of affecting to develop the extra-curricular physical exercises in universities of Inner Mongolia we put forward corresponding Countermeasures and suggestions, we hope these ideals can become theoretically reference for developing physical education teaching-studying and the whole people keep-fit exercise, fulfilling and the sunlight physical education project of millions and millions students further, spurring the researching and studying for physical education in university of Inner Mongolia.
