Equality and efficiency is the focus in our social life and the field of the education. How to deal with the relation between the equality and efficiency in higher education? Different scholars have different answers. This perspective gives some aspects of the relation between the equality and efficiency in higher education system. Every reform in the higher education is related to the relation between the equality and efficiency. It is necessary to reconsider the problem between the equality and efficiency in order to give some theoretic foundation to the decision in the higher education.At first, the article analyses the relation between the equality and efficiency. Then, the article analyses the factors which affecting the equality and efficiency in the higher education. They are followings: admission system of universities and colleges; current situation of basic education; resource allocation of higher education; spatial distribution of colleges and universities etc. To coordinate the two parties relation, efforts must be made to achieve the fairness on the premise that equality and efficiency have been guaranteed.The second part of the article analyses the problems related to the equality and efficiency in the higher education. The state-run higher education's low efficiency makes the conflict between the supply and demand in the higher education becoming the great problems.At last, based on the international contrast, the article points out that the higher education's popularization is the right choice to resolve the conflict between the equality and efficiency. And the same time, the article gives some suggestions that the governments should supply some security measures during the new policies' applying, in order to realizes the harmony between the equality and efficiency.
