This dissertation probe into the relationship between School-based art course and local culture (folk art) deeply and expound some principles,ways and steps about local culture(fork art) going into class mainly through two School-based course of "RiceStatue for Lantern Festival" and "Leather Silhouette Show".I think combining into local culture (fork art) is the trend of exploring the School-based art course in primary schools. School art education has the features of inheriting local culture. School art education relate local culture (folk art) mutually beneficial. The principles of exploring school-based art course bases on strengthening local characteristics ; The principles should accord with the development of pupils' body and mind ; The principles should stick to the continuous development instead of being eager for quick success and instant benefit ; They should stick to the rules of centring round art teachers and working in coordination with society . The methods and procedures of exploring school-based art course are to build the materials platform for local culture,integrate the valuable local culture (folk art),define teaching aims,make teaching plans,compile teaching materials for school-based art course,proceed with teaching practice and finally evaluate teaching . Furthermore, I expound "DIY" and several important teaching methods of School-based art course, compile teaching materials for School-based course concerning "Rice Statue for Lantern Festival "and "Leather Silhouette Show", and record the audio-visual materials. Finally, I point out some difficulties and problems in exploring and teaching of School-based course.
