China has been a country of poem since the ancient time, those excellent poems and prose which reflect the thoughts, interests and aesthetic requirements of Chinese people have formed a natural inner relationship with them interactively, so the poetic education is also time-honored. However, as the time passes by, the Chinese traditional culture which is called the salt of spirit is no longer prosperous; the modern value of poetic education has been questioned unprecedented. Chinese people, especially the young generation, are lack of cultural consciousness, which makes the inheritance of traditional culture, becomes a heavy problem in china.The author combines her seven years' teaching practice, tries to do some multiple analysis and exploration of the modern value of the poetic education, to enrich its content, to reveal the important meanings it brings to modern life, to promote the inheritance of traditional culture, to develop students' life potential, to advance their cultural qualities, to nourish their personality power as to make them go beyond themselves. At the same time, she provides teaching methods of the poetic education to teachers for reference which will make the old poetic education shine energetically.The paper firstly investigated the traditional value of the poetic education in history which includes its definition, meaning and reformation. In the second part, the author combines her teaching experience to analyze the theory and practice of the poetic education, explain the new poetic education curriculum and proves its practicality and creativity by analyzing its features and its relationship with current Chinese curriculum. At last, describes the importance of practicing the poetic education from four aspects which consist of student development, teacher development, school education and society education. The paper mainly uses Document Research method and Qualitative Analysis method, for the part of investigation into the traditional value of the poetic education in history mainly adopts the Document Research method, and the other part which shows cases of exploration and practice of the poetic education mainly uses Qualitative Analysis method.
