The development of the history of education is in accordance with and based on the background of human-being's development history,and the development of social productive forces,the progress of the culture, the changes of ideology are all interact with education. Romantic view on education is also a tradition since the Romantic Movement in literature, politics,philosophy and it formed through inherited the emotions and characteristics of Romantic Movement,it not only contain the existential ideas,but also incorporated the humanistic education concept in psychology. The postmodernism which rose at 50-60 years of the 20th century have been deeply influenced by the romantic view on education,the post-modern view of education,science and curriculum are all have a style and purpose of romanticism.In the long history of the development of educational thought,the classical and the romantic concepts of education are developing alternately all the time,each of them reflects people's different expectations and reflection of education in the context of different era, reflecting a different spirit of the times. Although there are some specific difference opinion in the romantic view on education in different periods,such as the Renaissance,the Enlightenment,the period of existentialism prevailing after the World War II and the subsequent period in which the postmodernism was popular,but they basically advocate anthropocentrism—to pursuit of human nature and the truth,to respect for emotion,to praise the desire,to require individual liberation, to advocating freedom,to attention to the real life and actual experiences,and to take the aesthetic as a criterion of measure,to desire to go beyond the secular and utilitarian mold.Looking at development of the classical and romantic views of education,it is indeed that the education includes double significations which are the training of pragmatic reason and the cultivate of poetic romance. This article intends to comb the characteristics of poetic education by searching and discussing the main points of the philosophy of education genres and thoughts which implyed or smritied the romantic spirit,and then to analyze its assumptions of human nature. Propose that the human being's existence is a poetic mode,the poetic education is a necessary complement to pragmatic education. In a certain sense,the evolution history of the romantic view of education demonstrated amply that whenever the man was enslaved by substance,community lost of harmony,education lost the nature,the poetic romantic view on education would always stand on the stage of history of the philosophy of education,in order to criticize and correct the education status. Similarly,in today's learning society,poetic education is the necessary sobering and antidote, but also our important compass on the way to explore education. Of course,the poetic education also has its limitations,and the full understanding to these limitations will be critical to both educational theory and educational practice. Therefore,to set up a rationalism with poetic education view has become an inevitable historical choice.
