With the view of curriculum reforms, teaching materials have always been highlighted The development of teaching materials usually go hand in hand with social development, as a consequence, nowadays physics teaching materials shall find their own ways to go with new century. The physics teachers in the middle school shall have a better understanding of the concept of new curriculums if they learn to analyse the development of physics teaching materials in senior middle schools, which , to some degree, will help teacher with smooth implements and the popularities of new teaching materials.This paper, based on 3 sets of different versions by PEP, has employed literature analytic approach, statistic analytic approach, survey study and case analytic approach to focus on the research as follows:First, From the view of texts, the theoretical basis of 3 different versions have been compared. The 3 versions are "the Full-time Middle school Physics Program of instruction (Revised edition)" by the State Educational Committee in April, 1990, "the Full-time Ordinary Senior middle school Physics Program of instruction(Experimental Revised edition)" in March , 2000, "the Ordinary High school Physics Curriculum Standard(Experiment)",by the Ministry of Education in 2003.Second, from the contents, structures and styles, the paper compares the 3 different physics teaching materials guided by the above mentioned teaching syllabus or standard to find how the new course teaching materials denote the thoughts of new curriculum.Third, a survey has been conducted to the teachers in the new teaching material experimental plot in Jiangsu. The questionnaires involve the knowledge of new teaching materials, the cognition , the philosophy, the compiling and the feasibility, trying to have a general understanding of teachers' and students' views of new teaching materials.Finally, the writer , based on the comparisons and studies, presented her opinions and suggestions from her own teaching experience to the new teaching materials.
