Since 1980s, the ping-pong exercise in China has undergone rapid development and has been guiding the development trend of ping-pong sport in the world. Theories and training practice of ping-pong exercise have been constantly put forward and innovated, thus pushing and perfecting the training system of ping-pong sport. What's more, after the big ball and 11-point system were adopted, the psychological qualities of the athletes would have to meet higher demands of the game. When the players'tactics levels are almost the same, their psychological factors, such as self-confidence, self-efficacy, self-achievement motive and emotional state will play vital roles in the game. Literature search indicates that, in the field of ping-pong training research both home and abroad, up to now, there has not any theories about"self-presentation", but there has the practice concerned with self-presentation already. In view of these, the author incorporates the relevant theories and research results of self-presentation home and abroad into the research on the training of juvenile ping-pong players'return of service skill in order to show the relationship between self-presentation levels and the success rate of return of service so as to provide theoretical basis and training parameters for improving the juvenile ping-pong players'attack-after-serve skills and raising their self-presentation levels. The essay mainly falls into 3 parts.Part One is theoretical research, which analyses the factors influencing self-presentation, defines the concept of self-presentation, and classifies different self-presentations.Part Two is experimental research. Experiment one is the research on the influence of attack technique training on young ping-pong athletes'self-presentation. By the use of "self-monitoring questionnaire"and"self-achievement motive questionnaire", three self-presentation groups (high-level, middle-level and low-level groups) were given 3-month technique training and the players'levels of self-presentation were measured both before and after the training. Results show that all the testees'self-presentation levels were raised to different degree. Levels of self-presentation of the low-level group were raised greatly while those of the high-level and middle-level groups were raised slightly. The conclusion could be reached that pure technique training had influence on the low-level self-presentation players.Experiment two is the study on the relationship between the levels of self-presentation and the success rate of attack after serve with the situation that the audience is present. Results show that the success rate of the juvenile players was higher with audience present than without audience and the findings had obvious discrepancy. The players from high-level group had the highest success rate, middle-level group had higher success rate and low-level group had low success rate. Results indicate that the juvenile players'degree of self-presentation of attack skills was influenced by the behaviors of the audience.Experiment three is the research on the influence of self-presentation levels on young ping-pong athletes'success rate of attack under fatigue state. Results show that juvenile ping-pong players had higher success rate under normal conditions than in fatigue state. The players of the high-level and middle-level groups could attain higher success rate under normal conditions than in fatigue state and there were obvious individual differences. While for the low-level players, the differences were not obvious. Results also show that juvenile players'fatigue state would influence their self-presentation levels of the attack skills, especially for athletes in high-level and middle-level self-presentation groups.Part Three is the conclusion of the research, which discusses the experimental results, points out the shortcomings of the research, draws some heuristic conclusions, then suggests the research directions and predicts the future of the research.
