Currently, the revolution in education is being held more heatedly. The obsolete opinion on the separation of the roles schools and families played is being abandoned and families are stepping into the school life, classroom and even the administration field, which implies families and schools are equal partners on the basis of children development.Home-school partnership abroad especially in America has been getting more and more mature after some twists. From the federal government on the top to the states, the school districts and even the schools themselves on the bottom, many laws, regulations and programs have been and being passed and carried out. This thesis tries to explore the factors behind the successful practices in the angle of the laws and some references are expected to be given for the creation of the laws on the home-school partnership with Chinese character.The whole thesis can be divided into four parts. Part I mainly introduces the history and background of home-school partnership in the USA; Part II presents the laws, regulations on the federal level, the district level, and even the school level and the related respective aspects; while Part III focuses on the practices of some home-school partnership projects, including the achievements and deficiencies. The last part is the purpose of this thesis.
