Social changes, technological advances, and the renewal concept of the new century have brought completely new challenges to. educational theory and practice. From the educational system, education ideological approach to education reform, from examination-oriented education to quality education, all of them change the concept of education, the efficiency and quality of teachers' work. It is very necessary for teachers to foster a new concept of teachers, students and the teaching because of the influence of the society, schools, students, and many other factors. But meanwhile those changes cause many psychological problems to teachers, particularly the psychological phenomenon of burnout, which has a serious impact on the performance of education and, the quality of teaching. It not only hinders the development process of students, but it also influences the development of the physical and mental health of individual teachers.In order to understand the college teachers of the general situation of Job Burnout, teachers' Burnout with the relevant variables such as gender, teaching duration , tittles, and the relationship between factors, and based on them , this paper puts forward measures to avoid and reduce it. The study takes cluster random sampling method from 159 full-time teachers of the colleges and universities (including integrated colleges and universities, teachers' colleges and universities, technology colleges and universities, and higher vocational colleges) of Gansu Province, uses Maslach's Burnout preparation for the revised study tools for the survey. And this study collects and analyzes the data by using the statistical software of SPSS10.0.The results show that this psychological phenomenon of burnout of college teachers in Gansu Province is not serious, but the emotional exhaustion has been emerging. Its main sources of stress: intense competition for research projects; the status of executive staff is higher than that of teachers; wages and benefits are not high; the economy is in distress; returns are less than pays; teachers are not fully developed; teaching and research are too heavy , lack the time to take care of their family members, etc. As teachers' occupational burnout is not just a simple phenomenon, but the result of schools, the society, teachers, and other personal factors, we can not regard it as a simple fact, but we should place it in individual teachers, schools , the family, society to a diversified background, from the society, organizations and individuals in three dimensions, inside and outside efforts to help teachers prevention, mitigation and getting rid of occupational burnout, re-develop their professional career.
