College students are the pillar of our country, their physical fitness is closely related to the country's prosperity and the nation's future. Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, inhabited by Han, Mongolian, Manchu, Hui and many other ethic minorities, covers urban and pastoral areas with diversified lifestyles. In such a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-traditional region, students' physical fitness is influenced by many factors. To study Mongolian college students' physical fitness reflects national equality. More importantly, through test we can get acquainted with Mongolian students' physical fitness, provide a scientific and objective basis for effectively improving their physical fitness, and further provide more physically and mentally healthy talents for Inner Mongolia's development, which are significant for the region's economic and national prosperity. In this paper, the methods of documentation, interview, test, questionnaire and statistical analysis have been applied to make a comparative study of the physical fitness of Mongolian students and Han students in Inner Mongolia's colleges. Following are the findings: differences exist in the physical fitness of Mongolian students and Han students; the endurance of Mongolian students is better than Han students; except the similar scores of standing long jump for testing the explosive force of lower limb, the strength quality of Mongolia is better; there is no distinct discrepancy in speed quality; the suppleness of female Han students is better and male students have no distinct discrepancy in suppleness; Han students are nimbler than Mongolian students. In this paper the author has investigated the influential factors of Mongolian and Han students' physical fitness, namely the status of growth, nutrition, and physical exercise. The investigation shows that the physique and nutritional status of Mongolian students are better, Many Mongolian students' awareness of physical exercise should be guided and changed. The status of physical exercise is not good for both Mongolian students and Han students. Frequency and time are not enough, and available sports activities are monotonous. Sports activities after school cannot satisfy Mongolian students. Some students' need for extracurricular guidance on sports exercise cannot be met. There is a lack of sports ground and facilities. In view of the above findings, the author gives some concrete proposals for improving the physical fitness of Mongolian students and Han students.
