In the process of physics teaching, arousing students learning motivation is not only an important guarantee for the remarkable academic achievement but also an important approach to cultivating students affective attitude and values which bear the permanent charm in education. Based on the elementary theory of motivation and guided by the requirement of new course reformation, this article further explains teacher's role and position in the process of senior physics teaching. According to the research and analyses of the students learning motivation in NO 1 middle school of Xinzhou District, the author has taken some effective measures. In terms of nurturing and arousing students learning motivation, this article mainly refers to inner and external sides, focusing on arousing the inner motivation. In the process of arousing the inner motivation, we emphasize understanding the importance of purpose of learning, combine the characteristics of physics learning, make use of the important function of physics experiments to improve students' experimental ability in several ways, and train students' scientific inquiry ability to improve their interest and achievement; Besides, we should display classroom study battle position function to arouse students' inner motivation through moral education seepage and inquiry-based learning approach. In stimulating the inner motivation aspect, we mainly use feedback information, make evaluation and rewards and punishment to maintain external motivation and deal with competition properly by setting up reasonable classroom environment. Through several terms practice, we have had good result. It is proved that nurturing and arousing students learning motivation can improve students' achievement and that good emotion can affect many aspects, which is an effective way to cause the student full scale development.
