| Modern educational philosophy thinks that students should be the subject of education. Therefore, promoting self-education among high school students and improving their ability of self-education should be the core objectives of quality education. Training the high school students' ability of self-education has important significance in the development of modern society, the self-development of education as well as the students' talent, personality and healthy growth.This paper is based on many references and studies related to the self-education of high school students. By using their researches for reference, the author made up some questionnaires which led to the findings that high school students' ability of self-education is very weak and their self-education is at a low level. According to the teaching practice over the years and the data analysis, the author found out the main reasons: the lacking of proper environment for the students to participate in autonomously; the lacking of proper guidance from educators.The class, organized as a community of institutions and the educational process, contains enormous potential power for self-education. Based on the theory of the class, such as its content, features ,functions and so on, the author came up with the idea that setting up a good class is an effective way to cultivate the students' ability of self-education. At the same time, the author put forward some specific measures: 1).Cultivating the students' ability of self-awareness by determining the objectives of the class; 2)Cultivating the students' ability of self-control by achieving these objectives; 3) Cultivating the students' ability of self-practice by carrying out activities in class. |
