The 21st century will be the highly competitive century with economy, science, technology and comprehensive capabilities, but the most important competitive performance is the talent competition, and the quality and the amount of personnel depends on the education. Therefore, in today's world, every country puts eyes on the creation of knowledge (the "invention" and "innovation"), education, and the training of personnel.China's "Higher Education Act" under article 5 provides, "the mission of higher education is to develop innovative spirit and practical ability of specialized senior personnel, develop science and technology culture, and promote the socialist modernization drive." It can be said that China has referred the social practice to legal height, and thus indirectly defines the nature of college students, that is, "an innovative spirit and practical ability of high-level talent." Therefore, the primary task of currently China's higher education is to enrich content of higher education, improve school quality, enhance the ability of students to adapt to social and strengthen the social practice.Social practice is like a melting pot, through participating in social practice out of school, college students not only broaden vision and understand original appearance of the social life, but also test their own expertise learning in the school, and train and improve their capacity; at the same time, designing and completing the social practice, can not only enhance their professional knowledge, awareness of innovation and psychological qualities, but also greatly improve their coordination and interpersonal communication skills.The fine tradition of China's higher education is to value the practice of the college students. Since the early 1980s, various practical activities flourished, and became an important initiative to promote integration of education and productive labor, and the majority of university students also actively carry out a variety of social practical activities and achieved certain effects, but there are also many problems: unclear understanding of the social status and role of social practice; social practice refined by conditions of the College, such as the tension of funding, insufficient value of the leaders, merging or cutting certain parts of practice arbitrarily; the blindness or "build instead" of the college social practice bases, etc.University education is the unity of theory and practice, and rational knowledge will ultimately be returned to practice to use, guide and the complete the practice. To point against the problems of our colleges and universities in the social practice, I made the following recommendations: First, intensifying the publicity of social practice to cause widespread concern and attention of the community; Second, introducing the relevant laws to guarantee the implementation of social practice legally; Third, increasing capital investment, and ensure "one-stop" services of social practice; Fourth, reforming the university system; Fifth, strengthening the research of social practice, and exploring the discipline and mode of social practice, etc.
