With the rapid socio-economic development, acceleration of people's life and deterioration of the environment, the issuer of human health arises more and more attention. Unhealthy lifestyle, particularly the lack of exercise, as an independent risk factor, has become a popular, non-infectious and chronic disease. Taiji, a traditional aerobic physical fitness activity, has been widely spread in the society. According to the investigation of current situation, 42-Move Taiji takes a large proportion in the physical fitness activities, however, the changes of the speed and different height of the gravity center lead to the different exercise intensity. In order to spread it, we have to quantify and specify the exercise intensity of Taiji. How to determine the exercise intensity and specifically quantify the exercise intensity in 42-Move Taiji? And so far there has little relevant report.Purpose: To analyze the different exercise styles in 42-Move Taiji in the healthy young men. The main monitoring indicators included heart rate (HR),rating of perceived exertion (RPE),quantity of respiratory oxygen after exercise, respiratory quotient (RQ),EPOC,METS in three different height of the gravity center so that to explore the characteristics of exercise intensity in 42-Move Taiji and the result may provide a scientific guidance to the fitness. Methods: The study subject was 10 healthy young men who could play three different height of the gravity center in 42-Move Taiji in standard action. Taking the center of gravity of a normal standing human body as standard point, the three groups were high (G), medium (Z), low (D) gestures and they multiple 0.97(Group G), 0.89(Group Z), 0.81(Group D) as the height of center of gravity respectively. And one height in 42-Move Taiji one time. The main monitoring indicators included HR,RQ and VO2 during the quiet state, HR and RPE during the exercise, HR,RQ,RPE,VO2 during the immediate and 10 minutes'recovery state after exercise and compared with each other based on the above.Results:①The changes of HR were basically the same during three different height of the gravity center in 42-Move Taiji. And the values of HR rose with the increase of time. Among the three, the values of heart rate increased fastest in low(D) gestures, which was obviously higher than that in the high(G) and medium(Z) (P<0.01) and also the HR peak. The changes of HR were basically the same during the first 60 seconds in high (G) and medium (Z) gestures, and higher in the medium (Z) than that in the high (G). And the time of HR recovery was longer in low (D) gestures than that in the high (G) and medium (Z). So, exercise intensity in 42-Move Taiji was higher in low (D) gestures than that in the high (G) and medium (Z).②During the 42-Move Taiji, the values of RPE, gradually increased with the extension of the time, were significantly higher in low(D) gestures than that in the high(G) and medium(Z)(P<0.001). And the values of RPE were obviously lower in high(G) gestures than that in the medium(Z) during the first 30-60 seconds and the last 300-330 seconds(P<0.001),whereas lower in high(G) gestures than that in the medium(Z) during the exercise(P<0.05). The different height of the gravity center of 42-Move Taiji reflected that the body's adaptation, which made a more significant difference, especially with the increase of exercise intensity in push down and stand on one leg, Body thrust with Half Horse Stance and Cover with Hand.③The values of RQ were higher in the immediate point after 42-Move Taiji than that in the resting periods. Compared with the three, no significant difference in high(G) and medium(Z) gestures and obviously higher in low(D) gestures than that in the high(G) and medium(Z) (P<0.05);and The values of RQ were significantly higher in low(D) gestures than that in the high(G) and medium(Z) during the first 3 mines recovery period(P<0.001), which indicated that the resumption in 42-Move Taiji was slower in low(D) gestures than that in the high(G) and medium(Z) (P<0.001). There was no difference in the three different height of the gravity center from 4 mines after 42-Move Taiji to the resting periods. Based on the above, it was indicated that the total exercise intensity was not high the recovery time was not long, however, the exercise intensity in 42-Move Taiji was higher in low (D) gestures than that in the high (G) and medium (Z).④In the high(G) and medium(Z) gestures, the values of immediate oxygen uptake after 42-Move Taiji accounts for maximal oxygen uptake were 18.69±5.57% and 25.49±7.46% respectively, equivalent to 2.22±0.53 and 3.83±1.51Mets, which belonged to low intensity. And in the low (D), the values were 43.87±14.33%, that is 5.40±1.34Mets, which belonged to moderate intensity. Among the three different height of the gravity center of 42-Move Taiji, the exercise intensity of low (D) was highest, and high (G) was lowest.⑤The values of total EPOC, its duration time and excess post-exercise energy consumption were significantly higher in low(D) gestures than that in the high(G) and medium(Z) (P<0.001)and the values were obviously lower in the high(G)than that in the medium(Z) (P<0.05),which indicated that the exercise intensity was obviously higher in low(D) gestures than that in the high(G) and medium(Z), which may keep the level of metabolism at a high level and promote energy consumption after 42-Move Taiji in low(D) gestures. Yet there was some difference in the high (G) and medium (Z) gestures, compared with the two, the level of metabolism is lower and recovery was shorter in the high (G) gestures.Conclusion:①The changes of HR flows gently in the three different height of the gravity center in 42-Move Taiji which characterized by its lightness, gentleness and smoothness. And with small changes, the HR peak appeared when the power generated suddenly. The main difference of exercise intensity in the three different height of the gravity center was between low (D) gestures and the high (G) and medium (Z).②The exercise intensity of 42-Move Taiji was obviously higher in low (D) gestures than that in the high (G) and medium (Z), and was higher in medium (Z) than that in the high (G). The three gestures in 42-Move Taiji belonged to small and medium aerobic exercise, which fitted for exercise fitness.
