Purpose:The relationship between the oxidation of carbohydrate and fat, percentage of energy supply and the consumption of total energy is discussed by studying the energy consumption and the characterization of the substrate metabolism towards the male and female university students majoring in Physical Education during the long time activity in the same intensity. The study makes it clear further that the characterization and rule of the substrate metabolism during the activity in order to obtain the relationship between the optimum amount of exercise and efficiency based on the metabolism of energy. Ultimately makes sports and fitness realize scientific, offers theoretical and practical basis to grasp the movement of energy consumption of the process more accurately and to guide consumption and weight loss training models. Methods:The maximum oxygen uptake (V02max) of 16 physical education students is measured by the incremental treadmill exercise. The cardiopulmonary function during the subjects run at 55%VO2max exercise intensity for 60 minutes (min) is measured by the gas metabolism。The Analysis process is divided into two types:(1) 10min paragraph includes:0-10min,11-20min,21-30min,31-40min,41-50min,51-60min, a total of 6. (2) 5min paragraph includes:0-5min,6-10min, 11-15min,16-20min,21-25min,26-30min, 31-35min,36-40min,41-45min,46-50min,51-55min,56-60min, a total of 12. The physiological changes of the body and the energy consumption and substrate utilization is Determined in the load of prolonged exercise the characteristics and the physiological changes in the ratio of energy consumption conversion of the body is accurately analyzed by every time segment.Results:1. On the 60min treadmill exercise in 55%VO2max intensity, the exercise heart rate and respiratory rate of male and female physical education students gradually increased with time, among which, a greater increase in its pre-10min. After 30min in the exercise, the heart rate and respiratory rate gradually rise into flat with time. The heart rate and respiratory rate of male college students during the exercise were higher than female. But no significant difference wan discovered in the heart rate and respiratory rate between male and female.2. During the 60min treadmill exercise in 55%VO2max intensity, the oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide exhaled of both male and female students subjected in physical education is increased with time, but the increment in male is higher than female. The increment of the first 10min is more significant. The relative oxygen uptake and relative carbon dioxide exhaled in the same time of campaigns of 40-60min. Between female and male are significant different. The respiratory quotient is increased gradually with the overall movement time for both male and female subjects in the 0-10min, but decreased gradually in the 10-60min.3. Under the exercise with same exercise intensity (55%VO2max) and same exercise time (60min), the movement of the oxidation of body fat for energy and total energy output of both female and male physical education students is increased along with the time, and the amount of carbohydrate oxidation for energy support is decreased gradually.4.Under the exercise with same exercise intensity (55%VO2max) and same exercise time (60min), the oxidation of fat for energy and ratio in overall energy (0-10min) is different significantly in the initial stage of exercise between male and female physical education students. The study shows that the oxidation of fat for energy and ratio in overall energy of male is increase gradually. While the results of female at the first 20min decreased gradually. But the ratio of fat oxidation for energy in female is higher than male in 0-5min segment movement (59.8%> 45%).5. During the exercise in 55%VO2max intensity, the amount of carbohydrate oxidation and fat oxidation and total energy output of male students is higher than the data from female students. In the first10min after the beginning of the exercise, the carbohydrate oxidation for energy and the total energy output showed a substantial upward trend and then followed by carbohydrate oxidation for energy gradually decreased. But the total energy output of both male and female remained basically unchanged. The total energy output of male is increased slightly. The total energy in the same period of the last 30 min exercise which compared between male and female have some differences.Conclusions:1. On the moderate-intensity, long time exercise, the total energy consumption of body is increased gradually with the time, the proportion of the materials for energy supporting changes with time. The proportion of sugar for energy decreased with the movement time, while the proportion of fat in providing energy is gradually increased.2. During the moderate-intensity, long time exercise, the proportion of fat for energy increased at 20min after the start, but the point of fat oxidation content and fat oxidation for energy fast grow at 30ed Min. this time also provides the most appropriate exercise time for the men to be more healthy.3. During the moderate-intensity, long time exercise, in the first 5min, the fat mobilization of female is higher than that of male, which due to extensive mobilization of free fatty acids. But the effective consumption of fat of female is less than male for shorter supporting energy time. The percentage of fat oxidation for energy is rapidly increased after 30min exercise, so this data shows that being in exercise 30min and more than 30min is the most suited time for body fat consumption of female.4. During the moderate-intensity, long time exercise, all of the fat oxidation, total for energy and fat percentage of male is higher than female at the same time of the exercise. The results shows that the fat consumption of male is more efficient than female, which result in the body fat of male is mot so easy to accumulate, too.
