Project teaching in teaching history to middle school students is a great progress in history teaching reform recently. Traditionally, this kind of teaching method was used in the later part of grade three in senior middle school, with the purpose of helping students to form an exact frame of knowledge learned, which is also a consolidation of the basic knowledge. Since 2004, the new textbook, after the curriculum reform, has changed the style from general history introduction into project style and combined Chinese history with foreign history. In this way, it sets up a new system in which each module in comparatively independent, but connects with each other in general. This kind of style is helpful for students to learn a certain history project deeply, and link Chinese history with foreign history to study, so as to widen students'vision. Though this improves history teaching in middle schools, yet it brings new challenge to history teachers in middle schools. This essay tries to explore the ways of practice project teaching, textbook modules and textbook itself and other relevant items.Applying project teaching in history teaching in middle school matches the requirement of curriculum reform, but it also requires all history teachers to work creatively, to think and practice. Only in this way can we improve the history teaching on the way to quality education.
