The challenges of the knowledge economy and the construction of learning society require a higher demand of individual quality, and education is not confined to the regular schooling in a certain period of life but extends to every field and through all the life with the tendency of diversified development. Meanwhile, learning has been transformed from a means of life to a basic life style. As the main force of social construction, adults is the main body of learning society, whose learning has the outstanding features, whose learning strategies' mastering and applying has the positive significance for both individual development and social development.This study selected adults as a special study group, mainly adopted the questionnaire method and interview method. It investigated the present situation of the application of adult learning strategies from such aspects as what degree of familiarity the adults mastered and applied the learning strategies, what effects learning strategies conducted on learning effects, how actively learning strategies were applied, what significance the application of learning strategies had, what factors had effects on the application of learning strategies and in what way learning strategies were formed. The findings showed there were some problems in the application of learning strategies: weak awareness of application, inadequate familiarity of application, lack of effective ways of forming learning strategies. Several reasons were mainly responsible for the above problems. For example, the impacts of unfavorable social atmosphere of leaning, the interaction of various factors in the application of strategies and adults' unawareness of leaning strategies training. On this basis, five basic ways to promote and apply learning strategies were brought up: the renewal of learning concepts, social communication and mutual learning, self-summarization and self-reflection, enhancement of learning motivation and learning strategies training.The full text is divided into the following sections: Preface, includes the origin and significance of the research, the literature review, thoughts and methods of research.Partâ… , the basal definition of adult learning strategy and related conceptions. We have expounded the connotation and extension of adult learning strategy, an inevitable choice to fulfill the concept of lifelong learning, an objective needs for building a learning society, and also discussed the effect and significance of mastering adult learning strategy in learning society.Partâ…¡, includes the present situation of the application of adult learning strategies and attribution analysis. The author carried out a survey of adult teachers and students in several training institutions in Chongqing, in order to investigate the present situation of the application of adult learning strategies and analyzed the problems in it. Then he researched into its cause of formation.Partâ…¢, includes the basic ways to promote the generation and application of adult learning strategies. In this part, the author first interpreted some kinds of basic learning strategies, and then, proposed five ways to promote the generation and application of adult learning strategies.In conclusion, the author mainly analyzed the innovation and deficiency of the research and brought out a prospect of future work.
