Curriculum development is the very core of education. The level of curriculumdevelopment directly concerns the quality of education and personnel training, and isalso directly or indirectly related to the direction and speed of socia l development. Ascientific and rationa l approach to curriculum development is not only good for theall-round development of the students but also contributes to fast and harmoniousdevelopment of our society. The action-oriented curriculum has been put forward andexplored to accommodate the new form of socia l development and the newrequirements of student growth.This paper examines how action-oriented curricula for vocationa l developmentcan be designed and implemented in accord with the development needs of theindivid uals, the society and the new century, starting by analyzing the status quo andthe overa ll trends of the current curriculum system for vocationa l education in Chinawith reference to the theory of action-oriented vocationa l education in Germa ny. First,this paper genera lizes the typica l curriculum mode of vocationa l education for thepresent in China to compare and list the advantages and disad vantages betweendifferent modes. Second, it is proven therefore that the action-oriented educationtheory conforms to the dema nd of the socia l and persona l progress. Finally, thegenera l framework and specific processes of action-oriented mode are designedaccording to the theory of action-oriented education in view of the development ofChina's vocationa l education.The research on the action-oriented mode in this paper organizes a new kind ofteaching content in accordance with the requirement of practica l task by analyzing thecollected information. A new curriculum mode is thus designed which stems from andappeals to the interests of the students with the characteristic of combining theory andpractice.
