A Study On Present State And Affecting Factors Of Orienteering Teaching In Colleges And Universities In Jiansu Peovince

This study is based on checking a great deal of previous literature, taking the athletics teachers of colleges and universities in Jiangsu as the research object.Comprehensively several types of research methods including questionnaires, expert interviews and comparative analysis numerical statistics to study the present situation of orienteering's teaching in colleges and universities in Jiangsu and analyze the affecting factors of orienteering teaching and popularity, with the aim to explore the developing strategies of this sport. Specific findings as follows:The results show: the main factors that block the orienteering expansion in universities of JiangSu province are the lack of fileds, equipments, qualified teachers, sufficient orienteering maps, students organization, teaching preparation, teaching books, outlines and potential dangerousness. Orienteering popularization in universities of JiangSu province is low. Most of the teachers are young male teachers; only very few of them take orienteering as their original major. They are not fully educated in orienteering and weak in orienteering knowledge structure, but they have great development potential. Incomplete training system is an important factor that causes the lack of qualified teachers, and then impacts the popularization of orienteering in universities. Even for those colleges and universities which have already set up orienteering, big differences exist among their course structures,course contents and examine methods.The study on orienteering in colleges and universities of Jiangsu, lays the foundation for this spotr's better development in higher schools in Jiangsu, also offers helpful reference to the current situation of orienteering teaching.
