Construction Of The Whole-process Vocational Coach System For College Students In Shandong Province

With the popularization of the higher education in China, the career selection for the graduates has been becoming an urgent task. It, therefore, has been focused by all the circles of the society in China that how to make plans for the college students'career and vocation under the new situation is a great task. As an institution of cultivating college students, the higher education institutions are facing the urgent task and regulations. Hence all the universities and colleges must establish the whole-process vocational system under the new idea of constructing vocational coach.Colleges and universities in China have actively developed various professional achievements since the 1990's. It offers a great help to make students know about the career situation and relevant policies so that they can convert their career ideas and improve the career skills in selecting jobs. Despite such progress, many problems have existed and they cannot accord with the development and situations of the rapid society.Vocational coach in foreign countries has started earlier. They have formed a complete vocational coach system after over 30 years and have accumulated a great deal of experience. Their characteristics are as follows: combining the students'career development with the vocational coach, with the teaching procedure and with the demand of the society. Recently we college have borrowed some experience from abroad and combined our situation and have explored some ideas and methods for the college students.Actually we are facing the following shortcomings: we are short of systems, just focus on the student body, coach a short time before graduation and have not developed whole-process vocational coach system. Therefore, we did experiments in Shandong Jiaotong University, only to find that we have not clear recognition in vocational coach. So all higher education institutions are keen to establish a system of whole-process vocational coach.Based on humanism, system and profession, it is a must to establish a coach team of high-quality teachers and reasonable and effective service sections, which can strengthen the recognition, outlook of vocation, quality of vocation and outlook of job seeking. Besides, we base on the characteristics of our school and different phases of students, combine the vocational career coach theory and practice. In a word, we select effectively career development through classroom teaching. Meanwhile, we enable students to have a fine psychology by group-consulting, personal consultant and poster consultant to avoid any depression and anxiety. What's more, we have strengthened college students'practical abilities in cooperate with the training bases. As a whole, it is a necessary task to establish a system of constructing the whole-process vocational coach.
