The Analysis Of Contemporary College Students' Political Mentality And The Research On Its Educational Countermeasures

As the internal driving force of their polital direction and behavior, core of their political quality, students'politial attitude is of great importance to the development of their correct political ideology, and has provided psychological foundation for their world outlook, outlook on life and values. This paper endeavors to understand contemporary college students' views on some major international and domestic issues, their analysis and judgement on current social phenomena and contradiction, and their attitudes of self-assessment and social evaluation. It provdes practical education measures for rational analysis on the characteristics, causes, as well as adjustment of contemporary college students' political attitude. It provides our party and government with basis for decision-making in students'ideological and political education.Current students have clear double political attitude, mainly as follows: combination of positive theory and vague formulaton; conflicts between individual and social reality, imbalance between political concepts and the actual conduct, gap between self- cognition and social evaluation. From the perspective of psychological mechanisms, students' political attitude results from dialectical development of the five elements: intelligence, feeling, sense, belief and behavior. From the perpective of objective environment, students' political attitude has been influenced by family, school, society, media and personality. At present, the development of students' political attitude is characterized with the following trends: their political awareness has been changed from single to complex direction, their political behavior changed from empty talk, radical to pragmatic and calm direction, and their political attitude changed from being disciplined by others to self-disciplined.Therefore, the education measures for adjusting students' political attitude should be achieved by strengthening their studies on Marxist theory and their political training, guiding them to learn in practice, carrying out setback education and creation education which will develop their hard-working and innovative spirit, enhancing fine traditional Chinese culture education and ideological and moral construction which will lead to improvement of their ideological and political quality. In a word, it will ultimately be achieved by the effort of students themselves.
