| As a kind of universal and ever-lasting learning activity in human society, reading plays a special role in improving the students' Chinese competence and conducting humanities education. Considered as the most important part in reading, after-class reading provides students with sound intelligent background for their class reading and knowledge acquisition, which will surely make it easier for them to advance in Chinese ability development.Reviewing the reform of the Chinese curriculum in the past years, we can see it's difficult for teachers to popularize after-class reading among students in general high schools. There are a lot of problems such as out-of-date education system and concepts as well as too much homework, of which the main difficulty is that we lack an effective and scientific evaluation system. To solve the existing problem, the author tries to explore effective methods and different possibilities to conduct after-class reading in high schools.The idea for this thesis emerges from the newly issued National Chinese Curriculum Standards for General High Schools, in which a kind of new multiple-evaluation is introduced. According to the practical situation of a general high school and the students' present reading level, I try to put forward a fairly complete evaluation system for after-class reading. Based on both the theory and practice, the thesis weighs the three dimensions of after-class reading activity, say, evaluation content, evaluation conductor, and evaluation ways before referring to different ways and possibilities to improve the students' reading ability, expecting more experts and colleagues to take part in further discussions aiming at reading teaching in and after class. |
