A Study On The Value Orientation Of Undergraduate Curriculum Of American Universities

The field of curriculum studies of American is a complex and changing area in the 20th century,but also full of vigor and vitality.Of course the value orientation research is requirements of curriculum theory and practice of curriculum,on the one hand,the practice itself as a result of a problem,need to give answers and guidance in theory;on the other hand,curriculum theory need further development and improvement in face of the challenge in reality.In this paper,mainly through the study of undergraduate curriculum's value orientation of American universities in history,as well as the status quo of the value orientation of undergraduate curriculum in American Universities,summed up the characteristics of the value orientation of undergraduate curriculum in American universities,as well as its inspiration to our country and give response issues and recommendations to problems of the value orientation of undergraduate curriculum in China's universities.There are five chapters in total in addition to guided content.Chapterâ… focuses on the definition of related concepts,analyze the meaning of curriculum,concepts of value and value of curriculum.Chapterâ…¡focuses on the main spirit of the value orientation of undergraduate curriculum in American Universities in history,from the colonial era, Independence to the Civil War period,after the Civil War to during World Warâ…¡,and after World Warâ…¡period four period to describe the main spirit of undergraduate curriculum in American Universities.Chapterâ…¢described the status quo of the value orientation of undergraduate curriculum in American Universities,and the status quo of Harvard University and Columbia University's undergraduate curriculum,to understand the status quo of the value orientation of undergraduate curriculum in various types of universities.
