The study of thought and methods in middle school mathematics is not a totally new thesis. The researches have focused on common thought and methods in middle school mathematics, however, we seldom see research on"core thought and methods"in middle school mathematics.This study is mainly on the core thought and methods in middle school mathematics. The way of the research is as follows: first of all, through literature review, I acquaint myself with the research on thought and methods in middle school mathematics. And then based on the questionnaires and teachers'interviews, I make deep research into the thought and methods in middle school mathematics, and give some standards of core thought and methods in middle school mathematics, and according to those standards, I find out 7 core thought and methods in middle school mathematics.The conclusion of the study is that standards of the core thought and methods in middle school mathematics are given: the global, typical, and connective character, and according to those standards, I find out core thought and methods in middle school mathematics as follows: classification discussion, transformation, induction and analogy, function and equation, numeral-shape combination, mathematical model, statistics. And I also analyze these core thought and methods one by one.
