The experiment is playing an important function in the development of physics department, In the teaching, the experiment is also advantageous in helping the students to study the new knowledge, to develop theirs'inquiry skill and enhances theirs'scientific accomplishment. Therefore, we must fully display the positive role of the experiment in teaching. Because of the limited teaching time , students in one class having different knowledge background level and knowledge's inheritance of human,we must avoid the following idea and teaching method:Any knowledge must be taken in inquiry way; any inquiry must be appeared in the form of experiment; any elements of scientific inquiry in teaching must be appeared completly.We should deeply understand the connotation of "scientific inquiry" , fully tapped to play the role of experiment at the different elements of inquiry teaching, to carry out experiments contrarily, distribute the time of class with good flexibility, make students to understand the meaning of"science"and"inquiry"in the limited time; to improve the students'level of scientific literacy and the scientific inquiry ability at the greatest extent.In the first chapter we base our study on the present teaching situation of physics experiment in middle school. We should rethink the effect of physics experiment, analyse"inquiry experiment"and"verified experiment".In the second chapter the author analysed the relationship between experiment and theory on the basis of philosophy theory of Inquiry Teaching, The author also analysed the influence to modern science education because of different scientific philosophy view.and also showed the constructivism basic theory of Inquiry Teaching from two aspects that is the constructive character of knowledge and the cognition of students.In the third chapter,The author analysed Inquiry Teaching from history and the persent research of the Inquiry Teaching, made a distinction among Inquiry Teaching,scientific inquiry and study by inquiry.analysed the function of experiment in Curriculum Standard of middle school physics and suggested how to enforce Inquiry Teaching,and had discovered the action of experiment in Inquiry Teaching.In the fourth chapter,The author analysed the action of experiment in Inquiry Teaching,expounded what conditions should the experiments have when they were used for creating scene in"the experiments create scene for Inquiry Teaching";The author also expounded that experiments will supply evidence for explanation by case. In the part of"the experiments can expedite the understand proceedings of students",we can see the author expounded the function of experiments from the view of theory and cases, those are the necessity of the experiments and rationality when we put the conclusion ahead. The author not only expounded"the experiments can make the inquiry more deeply"from theory and case,but aslo raise some countermeasures for undeep-inquiry experiments in practical Inquiry Teaching.The "kinetic energy theorem" of teaching as an example.Compared with experiment in different versions teaching material under identical course content different function, Elaborated the flexibility of experiment in Inquiry Teaching.Initiates majority of physics teachers to carry out the Inquiry Teaching according to their own situation and the flexibility in classroom.Give full play to explore different roles of the experiment in Inquiry Teaching.In the fifth chapter,The author raise some countermeasures and suggestion for teaching in view of the four functions of the experiments analysed in the chapter ahead.Because of my limited capability,It is very difficult for me to integrate abstruse philosophy with "scientific inquiry", so it took me very long time to raise practical suggestion for teaching and integrate them. I could gratified to see that the writing could make educators rethink about Inquiry Teaching and experiments teaching, Optimize to maximize classroom teaching and improve the efficiency of their classroom teaching on the basis of previous experience.
