For a long time, we didn't put emphasis on the teaching competence of teachers in four years university. Along with the domestic and foreign environment changes, as the key factor of quality assurance, teaching competence of university teachers can not cope with changes from various aspects. For example, the depth and scope of training are limited, lacking pertinence and substantial results. Therefore, teaching training should be paid attention to. However, in reality, teaching training in university is not as good as it should be. How to ensure the quality of teaching training is a subject that deserves exploration. Training needs analysis is the first step of training activities, also the basis of following steps. Taking the four years university as research object, this thesis analyze teaching training from three levels, which aims to offer reference for efficient teaching training. An analysis framing is given based on the theory of training needs. Firstly, this thesis analyze internal and external environment of teaching training on the macro aspect; secondly, according to analysis of object, policy and resources, the thesis analyze the teaching training needs of university on the medium aspect. Finally, the thesis has an investigation of individual needs of university teachers, which bases on the data of questionnaire of June, 2007 from China study in the international project"changing Academic Profession: International Perspective". Moreover, some interviews are made to support the study.According to the result of study, this thesis points out that the both university needs and individual needs are affected by policy factor, so the support of education department is essential. Generally speaking, the country and university requires much more teaching training, while the individual needs is not obvious, which should be stimulated in some degree.The thesis also put forward several strategies to improve the efficiency of teaching training of university teachers: the teaching training plan should be made according to the practical needs of country and university as well as the individual needs. At the same time of pursuing for career development, university teachers should also pay attention to the organization object and country needs. Only finding the combination point of three levels, the teaching training could be efficient and go on smoothly.
