Li Jinxi, one of the most influtial founders of Chinese language teaching methodology and the famous educator of Chinese, successively proposed slogans like"seeking consistency between oral and written language.","seeking unity of national language"and"popularized chinese"and so on since he set foot in the educational circles at the first century of 20. What's more, he threw himself into the theoretical research of the Chinese teaching activities and published China's first monograph on Chinese teaching methodology in 1924, ie The Newly Written Chinese Teaching Methodology, which systematicaly brought forward the reformation theory of Chinese teaching and worked out a concrete and practical plan. In the same year, he also published The New Written Chinese Grammar,which was China's earliest and most systematical monograph on modern chinese grammar. While doing his theoretical research, Mr Li Jinxi went in for the practice of Chinese teaching, Chinese improvement, Chinese characters'reformation and Chinese grammar researching, Chinese lexicography, teaching materials and teaching methodology reformation, which followed the historical trend and promoted the development of the chinese education. Hereby, it is very necessary to do a deeper research on Li's Chinese teaching theory and methodology so that it can ,to some extent, inspire the New Curriculum Reform. The whole paper has been set into three parts. The first part: Mr Li Jinxi's ideology of Chinese language teaching.This part mainly deals with Mr Li Jinxi's basic concept of Chinese language teaching,the view of Chinese course, the view of Chinese teaching materials, Chinese teaching methodology, and other Chinese teaching theory, which gives readers a systematical elaboration.The second part: Mr Li Jinxi's practice of Chinese language teaching. This part focuses on Mr Li Jinxi's activities of popularizing national language, reforming Chinese characters, advocating modern Chinese, researching Chinese grammar and compiling lexicographical book., which gives readers a systematical summary.The third part: The significance of Mr Li Jinxi's ideology and practice of Chinese language teaching to New Curriculum Reform. This part first gives a summarition of last two parts and then mainly studies on the relevancy between Mr Li Jinxi's ideology and practice of Chinese language teaching and New Curriculum Reform. At last, its contribution to New Curriculum Reform and its modern significance are put forward.
