With the approaching of an aging society, the social living conditions of the elderly andthe related problems are increasingly attracted general concern from the scholars and theexperts, and emerged in a number of research production about aging society and the elderlygroups. However, in most of them, the elderly is researched as a homogeneous group but lackof researching on the differences in elderly group from social gender especially lack ofspecialized research for older women, however, the aging problems are the problems of theolder women to a largely extent. The old women suffer from not only age discrimination butalso sexual discrimination. Therefore, this paper focuses on aging problems, meanwhile,especially on gender issues.The paper studies on the living conditions of the elderly in nearly 100 villages in JilinProvince via questionnaire, including economic, political, cultural, health, pension, family lifeetc.. Drawing on feminist research methodology and gender analysis methods, it analyzes theproblems of living conditions of the elderly in rural area, reveals the issue of universality andparticularity of living conditions of elderly social groups that exist in, and takes a method ofcombination of in-depth interviews and qualitative research in perspective of the homogeneityin heterogeneity of elderly group, find gender differences of the aging problems andspecificity of the problems of elderly women. Focuses the comparison of gender differences inthe living conditions of elderly group and analyze the deep reason, and explore the newmethods and new ways to resolve the problems of rural elderly women under the newsituation to further implement the basic national policy of equality between men and womenand promote the construction of harmonious society.The full text is divided into five parts: the first part of the thesis research background,research and research synthesis methods are described; the second part of the papers involvedin the core of the concept and theory to give a full exposition; third show in rural areas of JilinProvince the survival status of the elderly; the fourth part, combined with survey data and caseinterview information and the use of community-depth analysis of a gender perspective of theelderly living conditions of homogeneity and heterogeneity; the fifth part of the livingconditions of older persons that exist in conduct an in-depth analysis of problems and comeup with strategies and recommendations.
