In the last century, our country has entered the aging society.In recent years,as the economy continues to develop, the aging trend is increasingly evident,and increasingly showing a gradually accelerating pace of aging, increasing the proportion of women is characterized by an aging population.Affected by their conditions and inadequate social assistance policies and other factors, the elderly become vulnerable groups in society, due to the restrictions, gender, education level and other factors,the elderly and widowed women in rural areas are increasingly becoming vulnerable groups of disadvantaged groups.After a widowed after the incident, the elderly face multiple difficulties in later life, including a number of economic,health,spiritual and cultural and social support and so on.Rural widowed older women in later life difficulties will not only produce different effects on its own, but also for the development of rural social harmony and stability will be adversely affected.Obviously, because of their own weak position.they lack the control over their own lives and the ability to obtain social resources.So they rely on the strength of an individual is unable to change this plight, which requires us to find the role of a force to help widowed older women in rural areas out of the dilemma.Social work as a way to help others, just to act as an external force to change living conditions of widowed older women in rural.Significance of social work intervention is very important to solve their plight and the development of social work.In this study, Jilin D widowed older women in rural communities as the research object,using in-depth interviews,researcher investigated a number of subjects such as widowed older women,their children and the village staff,through in-depth analysis of the data collected,we understand the status of widowed elderly women living in rural communities.Through interviews, I found that the rural widowed older women in later life situation (State of the economy, health, spiritual and cultural life and social relations) is not optimistic, facing with many difficulties, and there are many reasons for such a the plight.To this end, the researcher analyzed the survey data and drew on existing intervention model,proposed social work intervention strategies to solve the problem. Social workers need to play widowed elderly enabler, family and social relations coordinator, community resource mobilization and social policy influencers,carry case, group and community work to achieve widowed elderly empowerment and integrate available resources to expand their social support system, which really help the rural widowed elderly women out of their plight later life.
