Studied the eye movement pattern of wholist and analytic cognitive style individuals while fast reading English essay. The subjects are 28 students of two Middle Schools in Changchun city including 15 wholist cognitive style individuals and 18 analytic cognitive style individuals. The subjects are asked to read the English essay with the highest speed and the eye movement trace are recorded by Eye Tracker.The results reveal wholist and analytic cognitive style and English score both have influence on the indexes of eye movement while fast reading the English essay. The eye movement pattern of Wholist cognitive style individuals is:less fixation time, less average fixation time, larger average saccade amplitude, higher reading speed; and analytic cognitive style individuals is:more fixation time, more average fixation time, smaller average saccade amplitude, and lower reading speed.
