1920s and 1930s is Chinese society's important reforming time. Politically, warlord politics moves towards the party politics, as the national construction important constituent university has been involved in too. The Southeast University is the second national university in the Chinese modern times, which has autonomy and academic freedom with outstanding elites' operation. However, with the performation of Kuomintang "Danghua" education and the embroilment of internal personnel entanglement, Southeast University fell into fission and chaotic. This article mainly takes the 1920s' politics and the social vicissitude as a background. The author works on principal change in Southeast University in 1925, discusses how the Southeast University from an autonomous university changes into a place full of parties and groups dispute after principal change. From the view of "Danghua" education, university autonomy and personnel entanglement relations, the author explores complex relations with each other.Except introduction, conclusion, paper mainly contains four chapters.In the introduction part, the author reviews present research situations, summarizes achievements and explains the still remaining development space, on which reveals article's research significance and the research mentality.The first chapter introduces the situations before principal change in Southeast University, mainly from the Southeast University's origination, the organization construction and Guo Bingwen' school's sponsoring concept. The reason why Southeast University soon leaps into the famous school, which can be paralleled with Beijing University, is that principal Guo Bingwen and the school board has great achievements. But in actual operation, authority assignment between school board and "three meeting" gradually unbalanced, which initiated many contradictions. Principal Guo Bingwen advocating academic freedom to let school be far away politics, which will have conflict inevitably with the rise of Kuomintang's "Danghua" education idea in 1920s.The second chapter mainly takes the time as the order, elaborates principal change entire process. The principal change lasts for several months windingly, revolving the question of Guo's leaving or stay, Hu's driving or hiring. The Ministry of Education has sharp oppositions to the Southeast University and the school board as representative of southeast local society. Essentially, the principal change results from contradictory conflict between "Danghua" education and school independence and autonomous after Kuomintang "Danghua" education emerges. Simultaneously, it also reflects increase and decrease situation between country authority and the folk strength in the southeast society in 1920s.The third chapter elaborates complication behind the principal change mainly from the warlord pattern change, "Danghua" education starting and university's personnel entanglement inside and outside. The principal change can be concluded as a consequence of mixed contradictions of exterior multiple political powers and interior different academic thoughts and the interpersonal factions.The fourth chapter elaborated the situaitons after principal change in Southeast University, with tutors separated and university restructured, to some extent, being a Kuomintang "Danghua" education base.The conclusion part summarized the complicated relations, which principal change can reflect, between "Danghua" education, the university autonomy and personnel entanglement. The political situation vicissitude changed the school destiny directly. As in modern China, university's development is closely related with the political vicissitude. That how to seek the balance between academic with politics is the important topic which National university faces in Chinese modern history.
