A Study On Integration Of Higher Education Resources In Yangtse Delta Metropolitan Area

Metropolitan area has become the most important regional phenomenon in 21st century, which has played a leading role at a regional and national economic development more and more obviously.Yangtze Delta Metropolitan Area is the most powerful area, referred to one of the world's sixth largest metropolitan areas. Within the next decade, the Yangtze Delta Metropolitan Area will probably be an important regional economic development pole of China, the total economic output is expected to catch up with the Tokyo metropolitan area, which will become the world's largest metropolitan area.With the Yangtze River Delta regional economic integrating and developing to the metropolitan area, provided a good opportunity to integrate educational resources. In this study, combined with the new environment of higher education development in the Yangtze Delta Metropolitan Area, through interviewing with vice-chancellors and professional experts and scholars to understand and grasp the situation of higher education resources in the Yangtze Delta Metropolitan Area, pay attention to study the new situations and new problems, find the mian problems of integration, study New York metropolitan area and the EU higher education resources integration ways and successful experiences, moreover according to the actual situation about exchanges and cooperation of higher education resources in the Yangtze Delta Metropolitan Area to put forward ideas and ways to speed up the integration of higher education resources, provide a useful reference to solve problem in the education integration process of Yangtze Delta Metropolitan Area.In this paper, the author made a systematic study of the higher education resources in Yangtze Delta Metropolitan Area, put forward concrete pertinence solutions and suggestions. The author found that the current existence of the Yangtze River Delta Metropolitan Area of the biggest problem is that the 16 cities in the Yangtze River Delta Metropolitan Area belonging to two provinces and one municipality, that is Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, difficult co-ordination between different regions, which resulting in integrating higher education resource progress slowly. Therefore, at the end of the paper, the author made an elaborate the status and role of the country, local governments, and colleges in higher education resource integration, clarify the relationship, put forward that colleges and universities should be highlighted the dominant position, encourage their enthusiasm; local government should plan from the overall regional interests, try their best to promote; country grasp from macro level, play the role of "guider".
