Trust is the essential part of social capital and it is confronted with the challenge from the marketing economy and modern civilization in the society-transform period. So the Chinese interpersonal trust model is also in the time of change that developing the useful parts and discarding the useless. However, in the transition time, the traditional trust is losing and the new trust model has not been built, so that it causes the trust crisis in China. At present, compared studies on traditional and modern Chinese interpersonal trust are fore-and-aft. In our research, we operate it from a different angle that has transverse comparison between urban and rural area which reflects the modern and tradition respectively.Based on the survey data collected by Sociology Department of Xiamen Uniersity in Anxi, Xiamen Siming District and Tongan District of Fujian Province in 2006, we compared the residents' interpersonal trust structure and influence factors between urban area and rural area. And then conclude some changes of trust trait from traditional model to modern one in the transform time of China.By the method of factor analyze and comparison of mean, we find that both in urban and rural area, residents' interpersonal trust structure still appear as the "Chaxu" structure which created by a famous sociologist Fei Xiaotong. Nevertheless, in the classification and level of trust, residents in the urban area and rural area have different opinions. The citizens rely on the strong-relation trust more than farmers. Multiple linear regression analysis shows that the citizens' weak-relation trust degree is lower than the farmers, and their general trust has not been built. The result confirms some scholars' opinion that Chinese trust model has the problem of tradition lost and modern model deficiency.
